1. Your Right of Withdrawal (The "Cooling-Off" Period)
In accordance with EU Consumer Law, you have the right to withdraw from your purchase within 30 days of receiving your items without giving any reason.
To start a return: Notify us via email at hello@mermaidheadband.com.
The Deadline: You must send the items back within 14 days of notifying us of your intent to return.
2. Condition of Returned Items & "Diminished Value"
To receive a full refund, items must be returned in a condition that allows them to be resold as new.
Trial Period: You may try the headband on to check fit and style, similar to how you would in a physical store.
Excessive Use: If a headband is returned with signs of wear beyond a simple try-on (e.g., hair product residue, perfume, sweat, salt water, or makeup), we are entitled by EU law to deduct an amount from your refund reflecting the diminished value of the product. This deduction can be up to 100% of the purchase price if the item can no longer be sold for hygiene reasons.
Packaging: While we request you return items in their original packaging, this is not a legal requirement for your refund, provided the item is securely packaged for transport.
3. Refund Process
Amount: We will refund the full purchase price plus the standard shipping cost you paid at checkout. If you choose a premium/express shipping method, only the standard shipping rate will be reimbursed.
Method: The refund will be issued to your original payment method.
Timing: We will process your refund within 14 days of receiving your return or receiving proof that you have sent the item back.
4. Return Shipping Costs
Customer Responsibility: Unless the item is faulty or the wrong product was sent, the customer is responsible for the direct cost of return shipping.
Proof of Postage: We strongly recommend using a tracked service. Please retain your proof of postage; in the event a return is lost, this proof is required to process your refund.
5. Legal Guarantee for Faulty Goods
Every purchase is protected by a 2-year legal guarantee against manufacturing defects. If your headband arrives damaged or develops a fault during normal use, you are entitled to a repair, replacement, or refund. This does not cover "wear and tear" from diving or sun-bleaching. Please contact us with a photo of the defect immediately.
